Amy is the Founder of Teal Compliance and Teal Legal as well as the Author of Solicitors and Money Laundering and Compliance That Works (launching Spring ‘22). 

 

A Compliance Consultant with a passion for helping firms adapt to the changing legal landscape, she has many years' experience working with law firms, launching Amy Bell Compliance Limited in 2017 followed by Teal Compliance Limited in January 2018.  

 

Amy’s team supports law firms through consultancy services and training to help everyone in the firm understand compliance and how to apply risk management principles to improve client service and deliver efficiencies.  

 

Amy is a member and former Chair of the Law Society's Money Laundering Task Force, where she represents the solicitor's profession at Government and in Europe. She is also the author of the Law Society's Anti-Bribery Toolkit and their Anti Money Laundering Training courses.  

 

Amy is a regular speaker for the Law Society, the ARK Group, MBL Seminars as well as local Law Societies.

Amy is the Managing Partner at Lucas & Wyllys and heads up the Conveyancing Department. Studying her law degree at De Montfort University Leicester, Amy undertook her training locally before qualifying as a solicitor in 2009, at which time she joined the Lucas & Wyllys. She has been a partner at the firm since 2013.  

 

Amy is keen to keep up with the latest legal technology and, together with the office manager Robert Kemp, has considerably upgraded the firm’s technology over the past 3 years. 

 

Lucas & Wyllys is a high street practice established for over 150 years with offices based in Norfolk. Serving clients throughout East Anglia, the firm has a first-class reputation, and are very proud that more than 70% of the firm’s work comes from repeat business or by direct client recommendation.

Bethan is a Director and Licensed Conveyancer at HPLC Conveyancing. She decided to pursue a professional experience over the more traditional university route and began working at HPLC as an assistant on an ad hoc basis in 2012. By September 2013 she was working permanently as a conveyancing assistant and quickly became an invaluable asset to the firm and began studying for her own Licence in the same year. Bethan is a now a Licensed Conveyancer, having qualified in November 2020 and became a Director of HPLC Conveyancing early last year.

 

HPLC Conveyancing is a small, family run firm, and Bethan has always looked at ways to keep up with the larger conveyancing firm’s technologies whilst maintaining their small firm approach.

Cindy has worked for Gowen & Stevens for 22 years, and is the IT liaison between consultants and the firm. In her current role she has enjoyed implementing the digital onboarding procedure as it has significantly helped to reduce AML risks for the firm. Her ambition is to help keep the firm ahead of the curve in this competitive market.

 

Gowen & Stevens are well known for their expertise in property, wills & probate, family, corporate and commercial matters. They bring together a team with an impressive array of legal specialisms and a level of service that is renowned for being both personal and responsive.

Nuno Barbosa is the eCOS Support Team Leader at InfoTrack and he helps ensure the whole team delivers the quality customer service for the onboarding process. Nuno graduated from the University of Westminster in 2019 after completing his LLB Law degree.

 
Aliyah Oke is a law graduate and a valued part of the eCOS support team. She has a professional background in legal and compliance, with over 2 years’ experience as a paralegal.

 

Holly Schneider is another valued member of the eCOS support team, with a background in graphic communication and tech.

Senior Manager, National Trading Standards

James joined the Trading Standards profession in 1989 and spent many years as an operational Trading Standards Officer. He now leads the National Trading Standards Estate & Letting Agency Team, overseeing the regulation of estate agency work in the UK and the private rented sector in England.  

 

The team works closely with local authorities, redress schemes, professional bodies, industry and government in its aim to protect consumers and safeguard businesses in the property sector.  

 

James is a Chartered Trading Standards Practitioner, a Fellow of the Institute, a qualified coach and mentor, and a regular speaker at industry events.

BUSINESS SYSTEMS TRAINING AND DELIVERY MANAGER, TAYLOR ROSE MW

Julia has recently been appointed Business Systems, Training & Delivery Manager within HR. She is responsible for managing a team of trainers to support the business with the effective implementation of business systems and change management processes. She is Agile PM qualified and brings a wealth of fee earning experience as a qualified solicitor, specialising in residential conveyancing for over 10 years before transitioning to work within operational services.

 

Taylor Rose has a proud heritage of over 100 years and a unique management structure that enables them to deliver on their philosophy of smart modern law.

Interim Senior Product Manager, Digital Services, HM Land Registry

Michael Abraham joined HM Land Registry in 2019 and is the Senior Product Manager for Digital ID and Digital Signatures. He is a key member of the team responsible for recent developments to HM Land Registry’s digital signature policy and the introduction of the Digital ID Standard.

 

Within England and Wales, HMLR's responsibilities are to provide a reliable record of information about ownership of and interests affecting land and property; owners with a land title, guaranteed by the government; a title plan that indicates general boundaries.

 

Their ambition is to become the world’s leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data.

Mike Leeman is a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield.   

 

In 1996, he began his training contract at Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors, qualifying in 1998, becoming partner in 2001, and subsequently head of the criminal department. In 2018 Mike became the firm's managing partner.  

 

Mike is a criminal higher court lawyer with many years of dealing with individuals from all walks of life in the most difficult of circumstances, focused on honest and straightforward advice and support, with managing expectations being key to the client relationship.   

 

The father-of-two from Liverpool has a passion for customer service and building relationships, with a noticeable love for IT. As a consequence, he has driven Bell Lamb & Joynson to become an early adopter of new technologies with a focus on putting the client journey front and becoming award-winning for its client care.

Paul Crilly

Paul Crilly is responsible for leading Pen Underwritings team of technical solicitors’ professional indemnity underwriters, further developing the class as an established core specialism, and exploring opportunities to broaden our solicitor capabilities in terms of product, distribution and geography. 


Bringing over 25 years’ industry experience, Paul’s previous leadership roles saw him responsible for setting up and managing delegated authorities within PI-specialist brokers for solicitors and other professions. 

 
He brings prior experience at Howden UK’s professions and general liability business, having been Head of Solicitors at the acquired RK Harrison since 2012. Prior to that, he was an Executive Director of Professional Indemnity at Prime Professions and held a similar role at Alexander Forbes. 

 
Paul takes responsibility for continuing the team’s entrepreneurial approach, which has led to innovations such as two-year policies for solicitors.

In a career spanning over two decades, of which over 15 years have been in leadership positions, Paul Sams is Head of Property at south coast law firm, Dutton Gregory Solicitors. 

 

In addition to looking after his own portfolio of clients, Paul guides and looks after a 32-strong team, taking responsibility for the department’s business development and ensuring that morale, productivity, and client service have been maintained throughout the rollercoaster ride the UK property market has been on in the past couple of years. The result of which has been record billable hours, profitability, and success. 

 

In addition, Paul has written four books for the Conveyancing profession, delivered training online and in-person across the country, maintained a popular presence on LinkedIn, and been sought after for interviews in industry press on a wide range of professional subjects.

Peter Rodd is the former Senior Partner and now consultant at Boys and Maughan Solicitors, a 15-partner high street practice based in east Kent. He is the Law Society Council member for residential conveyancing, Chief Assessor for CQS and a past chair and member of the Law Society Property Section Executive Committee and Conveyancing & Land Law Committee.

 

Peter is a former member of the CQS Technical Panel, the Law Society’s Money Laundering, Home Information Pack and E-Conveyancing Taskforces. He lectures on a variety of property-related legal matters and writes regularly for Property in Practice and other legal publications.

Rob Hailstone, an ex-residential property conveyancer with over 40 years' experience, formed the Bold Legal Group (BLG) in 2010. Simon is Main Board Director at Propertymark and Senior Partner in the family land and estate agency practice. He started in the family estate agency business in 1981 and worked in various towns across the region. He qualified as a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents in 1992.  

 

He was a Board Director of the Relocation Agent network for 10 years - the largest group of independent estate agents in the UK. He was invited to sit on the Bank of England local panel as the property representative 2017 to current. 

 

He was co-opted onto the Government working group for Transaction Reform in 2017, elected to the Main Board of Propertymark as Director in 2019, and delegated the Government ROPA working group 2019. 

 

His firm has won over 20 of the various leading estate agency professional awards consistently since 1998 and was rated in the top 2% of the industry in the 2018 Rightmove/Property Masters. 

 

In 2020 The Wilkinson Partnership won Relocation Agent Network Platinum League for the entire UK.
